Twitter

Well I have subscribed to Twitter but found that it seemed very similar to Facebook. Are they just the same thing? I think that Amy was saying on her blog that she enjoys Twitter. What is the difference? I guess the layout and perhaps some of the applications are different. But other than that it still as that some addictive craze to it that Facebook supposedly has. 

With all of this social networking everyone can stay in touch no matter what the circumstances are. I believe that you can also access Twitter via mobile phone which has been another application where you can to almost anything that you need in the palm of your hand.

This idea seems to become more important as technology improves and allows anyone no matter what their ability is in the technology is are able to use it quickly and easily.

    I think that twitter serves a slightly different function to facebook, basically a whole page of short status updates. I can see the value in knowing where people are, and finding out about the minute details of your friends' lives.

    However, I posted a link to a blog in my entry about twitter which elaborates on the library professional uses it can have. Take a look, it might help you see it in a different light. As for the personal side, I am still trying to decide whether it is worthwhile joining. How do you think that Amy added it as an RSS feed to her blog?

    Twitter is basically facebook with just the status updates. It's so simple yet popular in a way that has made the media go slightly nuts. Personally, I don't see the attraction for twitter. I've had my account since its launch year and I've barely used it. If I needed it as a promotional tool it would be pretty useful though.

    Once you have joined twitter you will be able to install it pretty much anywhere using the widget that they supply you with.

    I find twitter addictive pretty much because unlike facebook, its not embarrassing to post heaps of updates (tweets) in a short space of time.

    Also it is fantastic if you want to keep up to date on news, celebrities, politicians and friends activities. I like how I only have to follow who i want to and can stop who is following me, even while still following them (stalking) haha.

    Okay, maybe i need to look at to see what it else it does. I am still get used to all of this and it becomes very confusing when looking at all of these sites. I shall check it out bit more, when of course I can find the time LOL.
